I’m remixing and remastering recordings for the forthcoming Vector Lovers compilation, tentatively titled Electrospective. Tracks undergoing renovation include Girl + Robot, Nightwalking Your Memory, Lake Nocturne, Kissed You By The Fountain and Tokyo Glitterati. The increase in production quality is striking, when played side by side with the original mixes - especially listening on headphones. The compilation features a new track, Floating Point.

Electrospective is pencilled in for release before summer, on Soma.

After the recent demise of my Sony VAIO (thanks to corruption by a virus) I’m now transferring everything over to Macbook with the intention of leaving Windows for good. Though I have installed Mac versions of the audio software I use, some holes remain in my setup - especially in my Ableton projects, where missing Windows-only VST plugins have left some glaringly muted holes… In particular, my own VST synth, the DR1 Dr Drone has now become a silent memory.

On a positive note, I really have no alternative now but to begin developing a Mac version.

As Synthedit (the software originally used to build the DR1) is Windows only, I can’t be confident of any immediate progress. I’m now looking at MAX/MSP as the possible way forward and will post my progress here.
